III. DELHI COMMISSION FOR WOMEN
Brief about the Commission
Delhi Commission for Women is constituted under the Delhi Commission for Women Act, 1994. The Commission’s mandate is investigation and examination of all matters relating to the safeguards provided for women under the Constitution and legislation related to women in India.
The Commission is expected to advice on matters related to socio-economic development of women and evaluate the progress of development of women in the NCT of Delhi. In addition, the members of Commission shall visit jails and women institutions and places of custody where women are kept.
